MISSOURI
ALTHOUGH MISSOURI
NEVER ISSUED ANY
PORCELAIN LICENSE
PLATES, THERE WERE
QUITE A FEW PORCELAIN
CITY LICENSE PLATES
FROM DIFFERENT
MISSOURI CITIES.  THE
FIRST PLATE SHOWN
#35257 IS DATED 1915.
THE REGULAR ISSUED
PLATE FOR THAT YEAR
WAS METAL AND IT WAS
BLACK NUMBERS ON A
GREEN BACKGROUND.
IT'S ANYBODY'S GUESS
WHAT THAT PLATE IS BUT
IT'S THE ONLY KNOWN
EXAMPLE.  THE CITY OF
ST. LOUIS ISSUED
PORCELAIN CITY LICENSE
PLATES FROM 1904 TO
1912.  THE 1912 IS A
SMALL ROUND PORCELAIN
PLATE.  THE OTHER
MISSOURI CITIES THAT
ISSUED PORCELAIN
LICENSE PLATES WERE
KANSAS CITY,
INDEPENDENCE, ST.
JOSEPH & ONE KNOWN
EXAMPLE FROM
UNIVERSITY CITY, WHICH
IS NEAR ST. LOUIS.  THE
KANSAS CITY 1912 #D45 IS
A DEALER PLATE.  JUST
RECENTLY FOUND WAS A
CITY PORCELAIN PLATE
FROM CHILLICOTHE.
NOTE THE KC 1913 #88898,
A TOTALLY DIFFERENT
STYLE.
